    I've been eating at the Chicken Shack since it first opened & I was a much younger person. Not much has changed over the years and that's just fine. As the name suggests, chicken is the feature. Fried golden brown and tasty. Lunches feature a meat & three for an extremely reasonable price. Service is swift and cordial. They usually fill up quick with regulars and locals - but you won't wait long, even on Sundays after Church. There aren't too many restaurants in Luverne - but I'd go there even if there was a restaurant on every corner. You'll be made to feel very welcome and leave feeling more than satisfied. Southern charm & hospitality rule the day.

    HORRIBLE!!! OLD NASTY COLD CHICKEN! It tasted spoil! $7.00 for this plate and it DID NOT come with a drink. I don't mind paying for food that is at least edible. I guess only the locals get the good food. So if you're only passing through I advise you NOT to stop here! I have had better chicken from a convenience store.

    Stopped through on our way back to TN from FL. AMAZING food and service!! Will definitely be back if we ever come through this way again!

    I visited the restaurant because almost a year ago I read in a magazine that this restaurant was voted #1 for the best chicken in Alabama. The one's that voted must have never eaten chicken anywhere else. DISGUSTING is an understatement! The chicken tasted like it was spoiled and they fried it anyway. I couldn't even chew it! Maybe it's just the guests that are passing through they serve their slop to. I guess the locals and magazine publishers get the good stuff. So if you're just passing through DO NOT stop here!
